The Very Rev. Rob Boulter, Dean
Rob joined the Cathedral staff in August 2014. Rob leads and oversees all Cathedral staff and programs having direct oversight of pastoral care and worship. Kaitlyn Lengyel, Ministry Associate
Kaitlyn joined the Cathedral staff in August of 2018 after working as the Episcopal Service Corps intern in 2017-2018. She serves full-time as the manager of Cathedral communications and audio/visual technologies. Ken Brown, Canon for Music and Worship

Anne Stick, Director of Children’s and Youth Formation

Betty Symington, Director of ERICA

Assisting Clergy and Ministers
Members of the Cathedral Congregation who give their time and talent to preach, pastor, and teach.
The Rev. Charles Cloughen is Planned Giving Officer in the Diocese of Maryland. Charles occasionally serves as preacher and presider at the Eucharist. He is also a member of the Stewardship team and advisor to the ERICA program.
Dr. Stephen E. Fowl is chair of the Department of Theology at Loyola University of Maryland. Steve serves occasionally as a preacher and teacher. He is also a member of the Choir and Adult Formation Team.
The Rt. Rev. Robert W. Ihloff is retired Bishop of Maryland. Bob serves regularly as a preacher and presider at the Eucharist. He is also chair of the Adult Formation Team and member of the Stewardship team.
The Rev. Kristen Looney is the Director of the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute. Kristen serves regularly as a preacher and presider at the Eucharist. She is also a Sunday School Teacher and advisor to the ERICA program.
The Rev. Beth McNamara preaches and presides at Wednesday morning Eucharist, leads Lectio Divina on Thursday mornings, and manages St. Bede’s Bookstore.
Kate Riley is youth missioner of the Diocese of Maryland. She occasionally offers the children’s sermon and leads diocesan-wide youth formation events.
The Rev. Dr. Jon Shematek serves in a non-stipendiary capacity as Deacon of the Cathedral. He is a retired physician and medical administrator. The Rev. Lauren Welch serves as Deacon for Mission for the Diocese of Maryland. She occasionally serves at worship as well as offering the Children’s Sermon.
The Chapter is responsible for the governance of the corporate and temporal affairs of the Cathedral. Members are elected during the Annual Meeting, which is ordinarily held on the last Sunday of January. Each year three members retire from The Chapter and three new members are elected to serve a four-year term. Together with the Dean and staff of the Cathedral, the Chapter establishes the vision, fosters the spirit of stewardship, and secures the funds to maintain the Cathedral’s ministries.
