How do we as Christians live out the promises we make in our Baptismal Covenant to “seek and serve Christ in all persons” and “strive for justice and peace” corporately? How do we connect our faith to action? The Justice and Outreach Team offers formation opportunities and invitations to act locally, regionally, and globally.
The Cathedral of the Incarnation is the Cathedral in the City, inviting all to act boldly in Baltimore. In our divided city, we seek to be instruments of justice, peace, and reconciliation for all people.
In 1998, the Cathedral congregation was grieved by the death of a three-year old boy who was killed by a stray bullet as he sat in a barber’s chair. Since then, the Children of Light altar reminds us of each child killed by violence in Baltimore. We have since focused our energies on justice and outreach ministries that work to make Baltimore a healthier and safer place for children and youth.
The Cathedral congregation commits 10% of its unrestricted income to nurture and support its outreach ministries and partnerships.
How Can I Get Involved?
Monthly Justice and Outreach Team meetings work toward fine tuning our engagement with the community so we truly meet people where they are. We welcome you to attend a meeting, and/or participate in a ministry opportunity.
