Find your own quiet center as we gather in candle-lit companionship to hear brief, basic teachings on Christian meditative practice, followed by a 25-minute meditation. Meets Monday evenings at 6:00pm in the Peace Chapel.

Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina is one the the great treasures of the Christian tradition of prayer. It means Divine Reading, which is reading the book we believe to be divinely inspired. It is an ancient way of praying with Scripture, in silence and in sharing. It is an invitation to listen with the ear of the heart to listen to God’s unique invitation. Lectio Divina meets on Thursday mornings at 8:00 AM in the Peace Chapel, and lasts about half an hour.

Taizé

Taizé is a service that takes its meditative music, prayer form, and name from the Taizé Community, located in the village of Taizé, France. Offered on Thursdays at 6pm in the Peace Chapel, followed by a light supper in the Chapter Room.

Tuesday Eucharist & Centering Prayer

Meditate on Scripture, come to the Table of the Lord, and then stay to experience Centering Prayer. Centering Prayer is a contemplative practice that will help you move beyond thoughts and emotions into quiet communion with God. You may attend either the Eucharist, the Centering Prayer time or both. Holy Eucharist at 11:30am; Centering Prayer begins at 12:05pm and ends at 12:35pm. Offered by the Diocese of Maryland.

Wednesday Eucharist

Gather round the altar in the Peace Chapel for an intimate, informal, lively midweek celebration. Holy Eucharist begins at 8am, followed by conversation in the Chapter Room.
