First Update from Sara Sides about their “Less Lawn More Life” summer challenge (in Baltimore county):

“After our son gave us Doug Tallamy’s book, Nature’s Best Hope, and we read about the effort to create a homegrown national park in your backyard, [my husband] David got inspired.  He started by digging up a patch of lawn behind his large vegetable garden and planted it with natives from Tallamy’s list of keystone species.  Since then David has continued to create more garden plots (for feeding pollinators, caterpillars, insects and birds)…All along our fence line we have native bushes, plants and trees and the number of butterflies and bees we see is amazing!”
