Bishop Sutton has asked all the people of our diocese to support Puerto Rico during this trying time. In a letter to the diocese he writes:

“The Diocese of Puerto Rico has been devastated by Hurricane Fiona. Our Canon for Latino Ministries, the Rev. Margarita Santana, and I have been in contact with Bishop Rafael Morales and his staff. Bishop Morales told us about the damage the storm has done. Puerto Rico is our beloved companion diocese, and our friends there need our help. Their homes have been damaged, crops have been destroyed and access to clean water is becoming a concern. The staff in the Diocese of Puerto Rico are working hard to care for the people and meet the needs of all who have been impacted. As a Community of Love, I call upon you to support their efforts by taking up an offering on Sunday, October 2 in each of our congregations. Together, I believe we can help in a meaningful way to support our companion diocese in Puerto Rico in their time of need.”

Gifts can be made online at https://episcopalmaryland.org/prgive2022/ and checks can be mailed to our diocesan offices with “Puerto Rico” on the memo line, 4 East University Parkway, Baltimore, MD 21218.
