Visit Esperanza Center and learn from their staff about opportunities for Cathedral folks to volunteer at EC: Tuesday, 14 October, 5:30-6:30 PM, Esperanza Center, 430 S. Broadway & Eastern Ave. (2 blocks from Fells Point).
Volunteer opportunities include: tutoring & ESL classes; helping in the medical clinic; helping in the health clinic; joining Bible study with Esperanza staff; and maybe starting a food pantry and a second hand clothing rack. Esperanza Center is very excited about Cathedral involvement. They and the people they serve need our help.
The Cathedral Justice & Outreach Committee hopes to organize a team of volunteers serving at Esperanza Center; and has designated this social service center, associated with Catholic Charities, as a top priority. Most of the people served at Esperanza Center are from Central America & Mexico; knowledge of Spanish is not necessary, but helpful.
